Job Summary
BHE GT&S is seeking a Gas Measurement Specialist for our Leesburg Transmission in Leesburg, VA.
You will perform all duties related to natural gas measurement and regulation for LDC's. Specifically, you will:
Install, operate, maintain, calibrate, test and repair gas measurement and regulation equipment, as well as use orifice meter gauges and tubes, recording thermometers, pressure gauges, transducers, chromatographs, and flow controlling and pressure regulating equipment.
Assist in the solution of problems pertaining to gas measurement and regulation;
Install gauge lines and piping to instruments, meters, and other gas measurement equipment;
Prepare and maintain records and reports;
Make minor repairs to equipment used in the performance of assigned duties;
Keep the equipment in safe and proper working condition in accordance with established corporate policies and/or governmental rules and promote good customer and public relations.
This position pays an hourly rate of $34.23
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):
Minimum 1 year combined related gas industry experience, relevant military experience or other related experience. (i.e. oil, steam, HVAC, plumbing, propane, gas boiler/furnace)
Must be able to respond within 50 minutes to the station in Leesburg, VA.
Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to operate various electronic and pneumatic devices such as flow controlling and pressure regulating equipment, orifice gauges and tubes, recording thermometers, pressure gauges, chromatographs, and testers, transducers, provers, chromatograph, computers, etc.); ability to install gauge lines and piping.
Ability to understand and comply with all safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment;
Instrumentation and control experience a plus.
Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description
Education Requirements
Required: High school diploma or equivalent

This position is subject to outside environmental conditions during all seasons. May be required to work overtime

Test Description
Must pass Aptitude Testing, Gas Measurement Orientation Testing and Gas Measurement Final Test after six (6) months of Gas Measurement Training.
