Job Summary
Manages staff of technical professionals, to assist company facilities with maintaining environmental compliance.
Develops and manages operating and capital budgets, to ensure cost-effective compliance with environment requirements, and to accomplish company business objectives.
Manages the development and preparation of correspondence, and technical reports, to submit to environmental agencies.
Manages staff in interpreting and assessing impact of proposed environmental legislations and regulations.
Manages process to obtain required environmental permits and approvals.
Works with advocacy groups to develop new regulatory and legislative requirements.
Identifies and champions process changes, to improve compliance, improve process efficiency, and control costs.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities and experiences required for entry into this job include the following:
Significant, directly-related experience, typically 10 or more years; A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualification.
Advanced knowledge of the federal, state, and local environmental regulations specific to the media supported;
Strong team-building skills;
Strong communication and facilitation skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills, to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
Strong ability to manage projects;
Strong ability to select and manage environmental contractors and consultants for renewable energy projects;
Ability to manage staff, set workforce vision, and set expectations commensurate with the company's Environmental Policy Statement and organizational goals and strategies;

Ability to represent company in public and regulatory forums;
